What's New
25 Years
2014 marks our 25th year of
creating wood carving tools. It is hard to believe that 25 years ago
I was graduating from Western State College in Colorado and dad
thought of an ingenious way to get me to move home. (Having kids in
college now, I have a deeper appreciation of his tactics.) He sent
off the idea of creating tools in the form of an old fashioned
letter. Being a female with a degree in industrial education, I knew
it was something to pursue. I headed home and we dreamed up a few
tools and just simply started making them. We did not have the power
of the internet for research, so we just started playing and
experimenting with ideas. We did a few shows and listened to
feedback. Some tools have stood the test of time, others like the
JB Folder, were a good solid learning experience. What we once
considered custom tools are now part of the everyday. Woodcarvers
have been a huge part of the design process and we look forward to
continuing for as long as our hands will allow! Even after 25 years
we have a few new ideas.....

Everyone has a chance to win by either being a subscriber or a
Facebook fan. My daughter randomly picks a winner twice a year-
after the holidays and for Father day.

Customizing your bent blades...
A bent blade can be extremely handy for reaching and getting into
spots that a straight just can't do. They are also a blade that
doesn't get utilized as often as it should. They can be a bit
awkward at first, but once you get the hang of it they are extremely
handy. This is a custom bend for a carver who was looking to clean
up the backgrounds on his relief work. The tools were made in left
and right push & pull. If you haven't tried one, maybe you should.

Okay, I am so addicted to Pinterest that I just had to let you in on
it...
If you are looking for anything-woodcarving patterns, inspiration,
sources for supply or just a good recipe to serve the carvers coming
over to carve
Pinterest is worth a visit.
My only advice...remember you get more done with a knife than a
computer.
I say this from experience

Interesting Tidbit
Are
your glue
bottle
caps either so
full of crud that they are useless or do they just simply disappear?
Try using electrical nuts (they are used to hold wires together)
they make great replacement caps. Keep a few different sizes on hand
and you will not need to worry about your glue drying out again.

I just received the general carving
knife that I ordered. After 5 minutes of carving I am completely in
love with it. It has never been so easy to carve! I am a beginning
carver and as I progress I am sure you will be seeing more orders
from me. Thanks for taking the time and care to make a great
product.
Bruce Wlazelek
Thanks Bruce and to all those who take the time to let me know you
are enjoying your tools. It can make our day!
